Elds Nook
Tarpey Woodfine Architects were appointed to design a new private dwelling to replace an existing 1960’s bungalow. The bungalow had poor insulation and did not take advantage of the attractive setting which is overlooks open countryside and is located close to Dorothy Clive Gardens.
The new dwelling has an arts and crafts flavour with an L-shaped plan which encloses the entrance forecourt. Ancillary rooms have been positioned on the entrance side with the principle habitable rooms to the rear overlooking the open countryside.
The dwelling has been constructed to a very high standard of workmanship, using quality materials. The exterior is finished in Furness handmade bricks and limestone and the interior has underfloor heating throughout.
