Poswillo Cataract Suite

Poswillo Cataract Suite was a project to improve theatre and bed capacity for the surgical division at University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust’s Royal Stoke site. The project involved converting a staff accommodation area within the Trent Building into a state-of-the-art eye suite. This was to enable the local treatment of increasing numbers of cataract patients and alleviate pressures on main theatres.

The facility incorporates a reception and discharge area, consultant’s and anaesthetic’s offices, and scrub, prep and theatre area, enabling day case medical procedures to be completed in one location.
