Victorian Town House
Our client approached us to design an extension and refurbish this double-fronted terraced Victorian town house. The house is situated in a conservation area.
Our aim during this refurbishment was to remain sensitive to the heritage of the building and the local area whilst improving the building. We proposed to demolish the poorly constructed existing extensions and replace them with a bespoke design that enhanced both the internal and external environment.
The dwelling was re-roofed with re-claimed clay tiles and new brickwork with a similar size and blend to the existing. The extension houses a kitchen/dining room at ground floor which leads on to the private south-facing garden. There are two reception rooms with typical Victorian bay windows to the front, as before, however one of these has been enlarged into what was the existing kitchen area so that it can enjoy a rear aspect onto the garden.
