Wolstanton Methodist Church
The Methodist church in Wolstanton dates back to the early 1800s. The current church site comprises several buildings dating from 1867. Since the late 1960s, various additions have resulted in a labyrinth of dark corridors, which wasted a significant amount of space and was disorientating to visitors.
Tarpey Woodfine Architects designed a solution to these problems by remodelling the central area to form a glazed atrium. This now operates as a large multi-purpose space. We also performed extensive refurbishment to other parts of the building, upgrading the interior and providing disabled access. The building is now significantly more inviting and has a practical layout to reflect the church’s ethos.
